KTM signed a strategic cooperation agreement with CFMoto 11 years back. The JV allows CFMoto access to the 790/890 LC8c compact twin-cylinder engine platform while KTM stands to benefit from the manufacturing prowess of CFMoto.
There has been a massive increase in cooperation level. CFMoto is developing a trio of 750 cc motorcycles based on the tried and tested 790 LC8c motor – 750 Duke, 750 Adventure and 750 Supermoto T. These models will form a new product range for KTM and help acquire newer riders. All the 750 models will be earmarked for the Chinese domestic and global markets.

These will be manufactured at the new CFMoto factory in Hangzhou, China. KTM should unveil the final production models at EICMA 2021.
The 750 LC8c platform will be positioned between the 890 and the 490 parallel-twin platform being developed by Bajaj in India, which is also expected to be showcased soon. The 750 models will be priced considerably lower than the 890 Duke and Adventure, to allow more riders to upgrade within the KTM family from their current 200/250/390 motorcycles while also providing exceptional value to the experienced riders.

CFMoto had signed a strategic agreement with KTM for middle-weight segment. The first model to be launched from the CFMoto stable based on the 790 LC8c platform is the 800MT adventure tourer, slated for a Q2 2021 launch.
Now, we get to know that CFMoto has prepared an onslaught of models for Europe as MY2021 models. The motorcycles have a fresh design thanks to Kiska Design – who have been aiding the design and branding process for every KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas motorcycle.
The first catchment would include multiple small and medium-capacity models.
The entry variant is the 300NK naked which can be a good beginner motorcycle. The 292 cc single DOHC, four valve powertrain produces 27.9 hp and delivers the power in a smooth fashion. This would augur well for novice or new riders. It comes equipped with a tubular steel frame, USD forks, the rear monoshock is preload adjustable, dual channel ABS. A 795 mm seat height and 151 kg kerb weight ensure that the motorcycle does not intimidate new riders.
On the other side of the naked spectrum, the 650NK comes equipped with a liquid cooled, DOHC, four valves, parallel-twin motor which belches out 57.6 hp of peak power at 8,500 rpm and 62 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. And just like the 300NK, it has a tubular steel frame, USD forks, preload adjustable rear monoshock and dual channel ABS. The 800 mm seat height, 195 kg wet weight and 17 litre fuel tank make it more suitable for seasoned riders.
The same 650 cc parallel twin powers two more models in CFMoto’s 2021 lineup – 650MT and 650GT. The 650MT is an adventure tourer, sharing all the cycle parts with the 650NK but gaining a 18 litre fuel tank, 830 mm seat height (30 mm higher) and ~10 kilograms. While, the 650GT comes with a touring-friendly fairing, 19 litre fuel tank and a 800 mm seat height.
Pricing has not been divulged yet for the 300NK, 650NK, 650MT and 650GT. However, Italian dealers expect the first models to hit showrooms by June 2021. CFMoto also intends to ship the 800MT and 700CL-X to Europe in 2022.

We may have to wait a little bit longer than our European counterparts for the 800MT and 700CL-X though.
