The first images of the 2022 YZF-R7 have been leaked.
Just 10 days back, we had covered the teaser shared by Yamaha Europe on YouTube which hinted strongly at the existence of a modern tarmac-scorching YZF-R7. The video is titled, “Track. Street. R/World.” and captioned, “R/World is coming your way with something new. Soon. #RWorld”.
The video montage consists of a rider POV video of an unspecified motorcycle unleashed by the rider on a racetrack with a sweet symphony in the background score. The ending of the video replaces the music score for a smooth-revving parallel twin cacophony which is very reminiscent of the MT-07.
Today, we have the first pics of the 2022 YZF-R7. The motorcycle seems poised to be a great track tool and street weapon!
Engine: 689 cc parallel twin from the MT-07. Could be tuned for a higher power-band.
Styling: based on the erstwhile YZF-R6
Suspension: USD forks vs conventional telescopic forks on the MT-07
Brakes, wheels, exhaust: MT-07
Launch date: 18 May 2021!
We will keep you posted on further developments.
